Salinas Valley Mammography Center was established as a center of diagnostic excellence providing breast health care in a comfortable environment. Five physicians with training and long term experience in mammography are available for your care. Our certified mammographic technologists are dedicated to meeting patient needs as well. We are accredited by the American College of Radiology and licensed by the federal government agency according to the Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA). Our goal is to provide the best x-ray imaging (3 dedicated mammography units) and ultrasound imaging (2 state-of-the-art ultrasound units).

We utilize the R2 Computer Aided Detection System or CAD program to give additional analysis of mammographic images. This has been our standard for the past six years—the first in Monterey County.

We have over twelve years of x-ray breast biopsy experience with the prone stereotactic unit. Ultrasound guidance is utilized for cyst aspiration and biopsies. Sentinel lymph node mapping is also performed at Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital.

We also work closely in association with breast surgeons, oncologists, pathologists, radiation therapists, and reconstructive breast surgeons as part of the comprehensive cancer care in Salinas. Many cases are discussed at bi-monthly cancer tumor board meetings at Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital to provide the most optimal care plan for each patient.
