The interventional radiologists (IRs) at the Salinas Valley Radiology practice innovative 21st century medicine utilizing state of the art medical technology to provide the best minimally invasive procedures available in the Monterey County region. Our interventional radiologists now perform locally many procedures that were typically available only in large tertiary care centers. Utilizing the newest available medical imaging technology such as the new 1.5 Tesla Siemens MRI and the 64 slice CT scanner to accurately diagnose diseases of the entire body, our IRs can then perform a broad spectrum of minimally invasive surgeries (see list below) to treat a variety of diseases from head to toe.

From carotid artery disease that can lead to strokes to aortic aneurysms that can rupture; from painful spine compression fractures to unsightly varicose veins in the legs; from fibroid disease in the uterus that cause excessive pain and bleeding to cancers that migrate to the lungs and liver, our board certified and fellowship trained IRs are skilled to treat many diseases using innovative small microdevices guided by state of the art imaging equipment like the new Siemens 3D DynaCT/Angiography suite at Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital. Most procedures can be accomplished through a tiny needle hole in the skin, thus eliminating the need for patients to undergo traditionally invasive surgeries and the long hospital stay associated with them. For most procedures, patients can go home on the same day or the next day.
